The Street Fair located on Emerson Street and Riverwalk Park brings additional life and fun to downtown Chelan with booths selling arts, crafts, and food. Entertainment will be offered in the park.

2010 Bach Fests pairs Bach with Mozart. Throughout the week long festival the Bach String Quarter will be performing free concerts at many of the local wineries. Go to the Bach Fest Web site for a full schedule and ticket information.
 

This workshop is open to kids ages 4-10. Coffee will be used as the base for the watercolor painting that the children will create.

Ken is from Wenatchee and has been a professional artist for over 60 years. He will demonstrate then students will work on their own paintings with his help. The class will concentrate on applying color while paper is wet and working fast to preserve the transparency.

Chelan area artists donate an original work of art that is no larger than 12 inches x 12 inches or 48 inches in circumference.  All mediums are accepted and the funds raised go to support the arts in the Chelan Valley.  The Art will be displayed at Allisons from July 29 to August 20, when it will be moved to the Fine Arts Festival at Riverwalk Park until August 22 when the auction will close. The Artist Reception is open to the public and will kick off the Third Annual Art by the Foot-Silent Auction. 

Students will learn to push forward in experimental contemporary painting style with emphasis on color. The class will explore color theory, pigments, mixing and choosing color combinations for successful paintings. Oil or watercolor can also be used.
   

This workshop is open to children ages 6-12.  Using a blank puzzle the children will create their personally designed puzzle. 

Experiment with white paper, water, fabulous color mixing together as they follow a path of liquid expand your painting’s ability to talk with multi-media, small brushes and drips of water that carry pigment into a stunning topic.

The evening will include a preview show of the Juried Art Gallery, announcement of Gallery awards, appetizers, a no host bar, entertainment and an excellent opportunity to purchase original works of art and to see what will be offered at the Fine Arts and Fine Crafts Venue the following day at Riverwalk Park. Tickets will go on sale the middle of July.

Activities designed to celebrate the arts will be located in Downtown Chelan in Riverwalk Park.

Activities in Riverwalk Park include:
 
Juried Fine Arts and Fine Crafts Venue: Artists from around the Northwest will display and sell their original works of art. The venue will be surrounded by entertainment, food, a children’s area and special events.  The work to be displayed and sold includes painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, wood, metal and mixed media.  Some artists will be creating new works of art during the Festival. All artists will be present during the weekend so patrons can get to meet them.

Supporting Local Artists Venue: The work of local artists will be shown. The venue will include a booth sponsored by the Lake Chelan Artist Alliance, a Chelan and Manson Student Art booth and the third annual “Art By The Foot Silent Auction”.

The Children’s Art Adventure Area will provide a number of art related activities for children including the Art House. The area will include a space where kids can have hands on participation in art projects, a special Children’s Art in the Park workshop, which will focus on “Summer Fun at Lake Chelan”. This class will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM. This free workshop will be under the direction of Lisa Noren.

Entertainment offered by artists from around the region will be live on the Riverwalk Park Festival stage. Various types of entertainment from music to magic shows will be ongoing during the Festival weekend. A list of the entertainment will be provided at a future date. 
 
At Campbell’s Resort Park Room
located on Woodin Ave. across from the Resort:

The Juried Art Gallery will be found in Campbell’s Park Room and will allow artists to highlight their best work in an indoor venue. The Juried Art Gallery will include the work of all artists who are accepted to participate in the Riverwalk Fine Arts and Fine Crafts Venue and other Northwest artists who apply and have their entry accepted in the jury process. All artwork displayed in the Gallery will be for sale. The hours for the Juried Art Gallery will be the same as those for the Fine Arts Festival venues in Riverwalk Park.

While this is not a totally art related event it is being held during the Fine Arts Festival and is a wonderful dinner that supports the Chelan Rotary scholarship program.

Joan has a studio/gallery in Edmonds, was the Edmonds poster artist and has exhibited in the Governor’s Mansion. This class is for intermediate painters. The subjects to be emphasized will be a European city scene and a loose, washy floral or water scene.

Tour five beautiful homes in the Lake Chelan area and visit Tsillan Cellars for the annual art sale. Funds raised from this project support the Lake Chelan Community Hospital.
